Sizeday: Size Chart & Guide
Setting up Sizeday
This guide walks you through getting Sizeday running on your store. Most stores are done in a few minutes. If you get stuck, email hello@tekraid.com and someone on the TEKRAID team will help.
Jump to: Setup · Create a chart · Assignment rules · Theme button · Units
1. Install Sizeday
Install Sizeday: Size Chart & Guide from the Shopify App Store and approve the permissions. You land on the Sizeday Home page inside your Shopify admin. Home has a setup guide with four steps: create a chart, add the button to your theme, add assignment rules, and choose a default chart.
Sizeday never edits your theme files. The button is a theme app block or an optional floating embed, so you can move it or turn it off in the theme editor. Uninstalling the app removes the charts Shopify stored for it. If you install again within 48 hours of uninstalling, Sizeday publishes your charts back to the store.
2. Create a chart
Open Charts, then New chart. Start one of three ways:
- Template. Pick from the included charts (women, men, kids, accessories, and pets). Measurements are in centimetres. You can edit any cell after.
- Spreadsheet. Upload a CSV or paste rows from Excel or Google Sheets. The first row becomes the column names.
- Blank. Start with a size column and one measurement column, then rename them.
On the chart, mark each column as a size label (S, US 8, EU 42) or a measurement. Measurements convert when shoppers switch units. Size labels stay as written. Notes and an optional https measuring-guide image show under the table. A chart can have 40 columns and 50 rows. Save publishes the chart to your store. Nothing on the product page changes until you save.
3. Assignment rules, the default, and overrides
Sizeday picks a chart in this order:
- Product override. On Assignment, add a product and choose its chart. That choice wins over every rule. Sizeday stores it on a product metafield so the theme can read it.
- First matching rule. Rules run top to bottom. Match a tag, a collection published to the Online Store, a product type, or a vendor. You can save up to 200 rules.
- Default chart. Products with no override and no matching rule use the default. Leave it empty if some products should not show a size chart.
Use Check a product on the Assignment page to see which chart a product gets, and why. If nothing matches and there is no default, the product page has no size chart button.
4. Add the button to your theme
Choose one placement in Settings:
- Block on the product page. Recommended. From Home, open the theme editor and add the Size chart block to the product template, usually under the size picker. The block works with Online Store 2.0 themes. If you use more than one product template, add the block to each one.
- Floating button. Turn on the Floating size chart app embed. It stays in a bottom corner of product pages and works with any theme. When this placement is on, the inline block does not also show a button.
A button label typed in the theme editor overrides the label in Sizeday settings. Leave the theme label blank to use the one from Settings. Home checks the published theme with Shopify and tells you if the block or embed is missing. Use Check again after you save the theme.
5. Centimetres and inches
In Settings, choose which unit shoppers see first: their country (inches in the US, Liberia, and Myanmar; centimetres everywhere else), always centimetres, or always inches. You can let shoppers switch with a cm / in toggle, and choose how converted numbers are rounded. The toggle only changes measurement columns.
Charts are saved on your store, so the product page does not call Sizeday to render them. If a button is missing after you change charts, open the app once or use Publish again on Settings so the store copy is rewritten.
Uninstall
Uninstall Sizeday from Shopify admin. Shopify removes the app-owned charts from your store. Sizeday ends the session. If you install again within 48 hours of uninstalling, your charts in Sizeday are published back. For privacy details, see the Sizeday section of the privacy policy.
